Hot Water Sulphur Spring
At Poring Hot Spring, the water is created in volcanic areas, even if nearby volcanoes are no longer active. The hot springs are a result of underground rocks cooling down and releasing high-temperature vapor and gases. The gases consist mostly of hot steam that cools down and turns into water when it reaches the surface, forming the hot springs at Poring. Many of these springs contain varying amounts of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, as well as dissolved mineral salts, which is why sulfur is present in the water at Poring Hot Spring.
